Sea
Weed.
A beach-town shop in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. The site's first job is getting people through the door — hours, directions, and a coastal identity that matches the town.
The brief
Sea Weed is a physical shop in a vacation town — most of its customers are on the island for a week and deciding where to walk to. The site's job is different from a pure online store: show up when someone searches, look like a place worth visiting, and answer the two questions every tourist has — when are you open, and how do I get there?
The build
The identity leans into the setting: coastal sunset colors and retro type that feels like a good beach shop, not a corporate dispensary. Hours and directions sit at the top of the page, the catalog is organized for browsing, and the store is set up so online ordering can grow alongside foot traffic.
- Coastal retro brand identity, designed for the town it lives in
- Hours, directions, and location up front — built for visitors, not just locals
- Shopify catalog organized for browsing the full range
- Local SEO groundwork so searches on the island find the shop
- Storefront ready for online ordering as the business grows

Revisions
| Rev | Stage | Description |
|---|---|---|
| A | Direction | Identity conversation — a beach shop, not a dispensary; retro coastal direction chosen |
| B | Design | Sunset palette, retro type, visitor-first homepage layout |
| C | Build | Shopify storefront, catalog structure, hours and directions, local SEO groundwork |
| D | Launch | Live site; shop shows up for island searches with hours a tourist can trust |
The result
A site that works like good signage: it tells people on the island the shop exists, makes it look worth the walk, and answers the practical questions before anyone has to call. The storefront is ready to take online orders as that side of the business grows.
